Peacefrog – 35th Anniversary Edition on Smokey Vinyl with OBI Strip.
Originally released in 1998, Mahogany Brown is the debut Peacefrog album from Kenny Dixon Jr., aka Moodymann. This landmark release played a big part in VU’s early days and has influenced many of our customers for life. A must-have.
Blending soul, funk, gospel and even hip-hop production techniques, the album moves effortlessly from mellowed-out disco dubs like “Mahogany Brown” and “Stoneodenjoe” to rawer, dirtier tech-house cuts like “Me and My People’s Eyes”.
Mahogany Brown delivers a distinctive slice of Black American music, cementing Moodymann’s reputation as one of the most influential figures in house music.
