Repressed… A truly essential piece of early Detroit Techno history here, Octave One's original white label "Octivation" EP from 1990 is an old school head's and collector's favourite. This 5 track journey charts the Burden brothers mood from sinister, spacey, acidic Techno jams to classic deeper, more melancholic and then mid-tempo cuts - ushering in a new wave of Detroit Techno Soul sounds.

“Nicolette” was a game changer with its unique techno jazz feel and it's influence can still be felt in contemporary underground music right now. To music people not generally into electronic music this was one of the 5 Detroit 12” must have’s!

In 1991 it came out again as a full release but with one track changed. Re-pressed and re-issued with all the original 430 West white label and artwork in conjunction with the Burden brothers / 430 West Records.
