Beautiful 2LP from this legend - first edition copies with obistrip...
Back in 2015, Japanese deep house pioneer Soichi Teradastepped back into the limelight courtesy of Sounds FromThe Far East, a Rush Hour-released, Hunee curatedretrospective of material released on his Far EastRecording label in the 1990s and early 2000s. Buoyed bythe positive response and renewed interest in his work,Terada went back into the studio to record his first new albumof house music for over 25 years
Developed over 18 months, Terada tried to recreate themental and physical processes that led to the creation ofhis acclaimed earlier work. Those familiar with Terada’scelebrated, dancefloor-focused sound of the 1990s – avibrant, atmospheric, and emotive take on deep housepowered by the twin attractions of groove and melody – willfind this here.
Produced using the very same synthesizers and drummachines that powered his 1990s work, the album is ajoyous, colourful, and life-affirming collection of timelesshouse music that not only recalls Terada’s own impeccableback catalogue, but also that of similarly celebratedcontemporaries such as the Burrell Brothers or Ben Cenac.
