Originally released in 1975 by Muse Records, and rare as… ‘Night Of The Mark VII’ is a hard bop gem that captures tenor saxophonist Clifford Jordan in peak form alongside an all-star rhythm section featuring Cedar Walton on piano, Sam Jones on bass and Billy Higgins on drums.

The quartet’s chemistry is electric, with Jordan’s robust tone and masterful phrasing, supported by Walton’s elegant touch and Higgins’ effortless swing.

Capturing Clifford Jordan at the height of his powers - deep, soulful and swinging hard. Recorded in Paris, France on March 26, 1975 with his working quartet, it’s a classic session that’s become a favourite among collectors for both its top-notch performances and warm, analogue sound.

Remastered and cut AAA directly from the original analogue tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab. Pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal Media and housed in Stoughton Old Style Tip-On jackets. Including an insert with newly written liner notes by Willard Jenkins, Jr. and Barney Fields, with rare photograph by Raymond Ross.
