“This is the first vinyl release by angama, a duo consisting of Okinawa-based artists Harikuyamaku and Bitowa. Although they previously released a self-produced cassette in 2020, its distribution was limited to direct sales and a handful of domestic record shops.

Following the release of Bitowa’s Septemba EP on Dotei Records in January 2025, we had more opportunities to deepen our connection, leading to this release. The tracks on this record are not the product of predetermined arrangements, but are built around sounds that emerged organically through their sessions. Bitowa creates the beats, while Harikuyamaku adds the layers, primarily using Buchla synthesisers, and applies spatial effects processing, resulting in a form of Techno with a distinctly ritualistic, almost shamanic atmosphere.

We deliberately limited the playing time on each side to minimise the factors that can impose limitations during the cutting process. The record was produced with the dance floor in mind, aiming for the highest possible sound quality and maximum impact”.
