Wow, what a Record Store Day it was. Weeks in prep, risking the bank, early starts, late nights and wantslists galore.

It was a tricky build up this year with over 500 releases to select from across the RSD list. We never know how its going to go, but we selected 320 of them, and having so many releases really did appeal to tastes across the musical spectrum. Something for everyone. 

Thankfully record buyers of all ages and tastes came out and supported VU on an action packed day in the shop. With many new faces alongside lots of long time customers and friends showing out to pick up the exclusives, have a dig or just hang out and soak up the vibes.

Then on Monday night our online customers showed out in force to support some of the quality RSD releases that we picked for the website. With the likes of Mr G, Mr K, Patti Jo, Blaze, Ike White, Schmoov! and DJ Koco, to name but a few, creating lots of excitement with VU regulars. 

You can be as cynical as you like about the day, but bringing so many people together, getting the releases to them that they have on their lists, and turning our town centre into a thriving record collecting / music community event for the day really makes it fun and rewarding.
