2022 Reissue heavyweight 180 gram vinylhoused in a Tip-On jacket w/ Obi-strip - a verygood looking LP!
Formed in Oakland in the early 1970s, the Sonsand Daughters of Lite recorded their only LP, bitof a holy grail among collectors. A spiritualrecording filled with soul, funk, jazz, and Africanpercussion. The musical collective describedthemselves as a mix of African rhythms, Latinflavors, and Far Eastern textures. This album wasvirtually unknown to DJs and collectors untilMichael McFadin's discovery in the late 80s. Hethen scoured the bay area and bought upmultiple copies for his record store The GrooveMerchant on Haight Street in San Francisco, many of which were bought from flea marketsand the dollar bins of other shops. Theoutrageously funky title track became a jazzdance classic, courtesy of heavy radio and clubplay by top UK DJ and tastemaker Gilles Peterson.
